Preparing For Your Visit

1 - Items To Bring

  • Prescription from your physician

  • Insurance card

  • Valid photo ID

  • Cash or credit card payment

3 - After Your Visit

  • Minor bruising and swelling around the puncture site may occur, and is normal.

  • Should bruising occur, it should go away within a few days.

2 - What To Expect

  • The procedure is usually brief and uneventful; most appointments last less than 15 minutes.

  • We’ll begin by gently pressing against your skin to locate the best vein.

  • Next, we’ll clean the area with an alcohol pad and tie a tourniquet around your arm to increase blood flow.

4 - Your Results

  • Results will be sent directly to your physician.

  • Most results are available the next day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to fast before my test?

Some tests require fasting before drawing your blood. Contact your physician to find out the requirements for your specific test.

I'm afraid of needles. Can your team work with me?

Definitely let us know if you’re nervous or have fainted in the past. Talking helps! We can coach you through the process and keep needles out-of-sight, so you’re less likely to faint.

What should I do to prepare?

Read the preparation guide above to make sure you have the proper materials, and know how long your appointment will take. You should also drink lots of water, so your veins become plumper, which makes finding them much easier. Also, for urine tests, the fuller your bladder, the easier it will be  for you to provide a sample.

I've had trouble with techs finding my veins in the past. How can I avoid that this time?

I'm allergic to latex. How should I let my Phlebotomist know?

We're sorry to hear you've had a negative experience in the past1 We’re skilled at drawing blood from all types of patients. To coax out a shy vein, we may tighten the tourniquet or place a warm pad against your skin.

Let us know of your allergy as soon as you check in for your appointment. We'll avoid using any latex products during your test.

Can I bring my child to my appointment?

Our Patient Service Centers are not staffed to watch children. We require children to be supervised by an adult at all times.
