Simple Labs Partners with the Village of Harwood Heights for COVID-19  Drive-Thru Antibody and SwabTesting

Drive-thru testing available to community groups, including first responders

Chicago – April 30, 2020 – In response to the novel coronavirus pandemic, Simple Laboratories (Simple Labs), a Chicago-based full diagnostic clinical laboratory, is partnering with the Village of Harwood Heights in Cook County to provide COVID-19 drive-thru testing, including antibody and swab tests to community groups and first responders. The testing has started and will go until the end of the week.

Simple Labs has been conducting few hundred tests a day and the drive-thru site in Harwood Heights aims to expand the testing capacity significantly. Tests will be by appointment only. Members of community groups and first responders must be referred by the Village of Harwood Heights. The entire process takes 15 minutes, start to finish. The site is opened from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  For the antibody test, people taking the tests can get results next day after a sample is received. Strict safety protocols will be followed at the drive-thru collection site. Testing will be completed locally at an off-site location.

As the COVID-19 public health emergency continues to worsen with community spread, our mission has never been more important: to make healthcare affordable by being transparent, supportive, and simple,” says Narni Yoder, co-founder and Chief Sales Officer of Simple Laboratories. “We are working around the clock to support the high demand for accurate and efficient COVID-19 testing, and we will continue to be a key player in flattening the curve and stopping the spread in Chicago communities.”

“We appreciate working with Simple Labs located here in Harwood Heights for another testing facility,” says Mayor Arlene Jezierny of the Village of Harwood Heights. “As the Mayor of Harwood Heights representing the Village Board, our public works, and the police department, we want to do whatever we can to help Simple Labs, assist the CDC to help identify COVID-19 exposure and obtain test results for antibodies to combat the pandemic that we all face. We specially want to thank Father Marcin at St. Rosalie Catholic Parish for providing the area for testing facility in Harwood Heights to work with Simple Labs right here in the community.”
